Muhammad Ali is one of the most beloved and reviled athletes of the nation, and what better fight to recreate than the Sonny Liston heavyweight championship! It was this particular moment of the most anticipated, watched controversial fight in boxing history knockout that I wanted to capture.

It was important to not distort the portrait so it still captures his focus and intensity, but the carefully chosen contrasting neon greens and sunshine yellow bring the black and white portrait alive, capturing and radiating his strength and poetic brashness.
